Winter blues
Here we are, January the longest month of the year (or so it seams) We’ve had Christmas, New year and ate and drank enough to sink a ship! Now what??? You're all partied out, knackered and it's cold and dark outside and you can't wait for spring! You think right, I'm gonna be the best me for 2025 but all of the new year's resolutions go out of the window by the 3rd of January!
This is me! But this year I'm going to be gentle with myself! I’m not going to punish myself with giving up the goodies and taking up HIIT! This year I’m going to nourish myself to set myself up for what I hope is going to be a busy year! Do you want to join me?
So what am I going to do?
- I’m going to try to get as much sunlight as possible, work, eat, read in front of a window. Why?
- Vitamin D is so important to us as it supports cognitive function (i need all the help i can get)
-It improves and helps your mood
-It Promotes Calcium absorption
I also use a vitamin D supplement to help and some people have light lamps that help them.
- I’m Going to get outside everyday! Even for just 10 minutes! This may seem easy to some but when the fire is on and it's cold outside its hard to find the motivation
- I’m going to see and talk to friends! Making the effort to socialize in a safe place like our homes where we can really ask how each other are doing.
- Add one more veg choice to our main meal. I'm such a lazy cook that sometimes a vegetable doesn't even see my plate *Gasps
I’m not going to be hard on myself and put myself down. I’m going to build on my life with good small habits!
