Hi, I’m Sam, owner of Something Profound
I have Multiple Sclerosis (MS) and I’m a mum of a neurodiverse household. I understand what it’s like to live with chronic pain and neurodiversity. When I was in college, I studied fashion and graphic design, which I absolutely loved. I then had my two gorgeous children, and my focus has since been on them.
Now they’re growing up, it’s my time to get back into my passion for designing fashion.I’m raising awareness for chronic pain and neurodiversity with feel good fashion. I know how important it is for you to feel safe and comfortable in your surroundings. Especially with the clothes that you wear. It also matters to me that what we wear doesn’t come at someone else’s expense. Feeling good should mean everyone in the chain feels good. That’s why our t-shirts are Fair Wear certified. That means the supply chain makes sure their workers are treat like rockstars. They're fairly paid in a safe, dignified environment.

FAQ
Does Something Profound collaborate with other disabled and neurodivergent creators?
Absolutely — and it’s one of my favourite things about running Something Profound! 💖
I’m proud to work with an incredibly talented community of disabled and neurodivergent creators on exclusive design collaborations across our t-shirts, hoodies and bags. Current and recent collaborators include:
• David Kirkman — a brilliant artist with AuDHD
• Spiritual Flamingo (Amanda) — a Reiki and sound healing practitioner living with epilepsy
• AuDHDacious Humans (Jenni and Martha) — who do incredible work supporting unschooling kids
• Liz Evans, The Untypical OT — who supports parents and teachers in the SEND community and has ADHD herself
Every collaboration is rooted in shared experience and authenticity — these aren’t just business partnerships, they’re connections with people who truly get it.

Is Something Profound a disabled-owned UK clothing brand?
Yes! Something Profound was created by me — a northerner living with Multiple Sclerosis (MS) and self-diagnosed ADHD — so this brand isn’t just a business, it’s deeply personal.
Having studied fashion at college, I always had a creative eye — but it was MS that brought the unexpected turning point. The challenges of living with a chronic illness meant stepping away from a career in hospitality — but instead of giving up, Something Profound was born. A brand created from that experience, for people who understand it.
When I design something, it comes from a real place — the exhaustion, the humour, the frustration, the joy and everything in between. That’s what makes Something Profound different from just another clothing brand.
You’re not buying from a faceless corporation. You’re buying from someone who gets it.
What is Something Profound — the UK chronic illness and neurodivergent clothing brand?
Something Profound is an independent clothing brand born in the north east of England, created for people who get it — whatever it looks like for you.
Our clothes are designed with the chronic illness and neurodivergent community at heart — but honestly? They’re for everyone. You don’t need a diagnosis to wear Something Profound. If you’ve ever been exhausted for no explainable reason, felt misunderstood, needed a nap, or just wanted a t-shirt that says exactly what you’re thinking — you’re one of us.
Our designs cover everything from the humour of everyday life (“What did I come in here for?” — relatable to literally everyone ) to the things that really matter (“Spread Love Not Sh💩t”). Some make you laugh, some make you think, some just feel like a warm hug in a t-shirt.
Made from organic cotton, ethically produced and sensory-friendly — because feeling good on the outside should never come at a cost to how you feel on the inside.
Something Profound is for you. Yes, you.
Do Something Profound orders come with a little something extra?
We love making our packaging feel special — so all UK orders come with a small sweet treat tucked inside! 🍬 You’ll either find a pack of Love Hearts or a Swizzels lolly in your parcel — both are vegan friendly so everyone’s included!
If you’re diabetic or unable to eat sweets for any reason, no problem at all — just pop a note in the message box at checkout and we’ll make sure to leave it out, no questions asked.
Please note that our international orders don’t include the sweet treat due to shipping restrictions — but we still pack every order with just as much love! 💖
How are Something Profound’s designs printed, and can you feel them?
All of our designs are printed using DTF (Direct to Film) printing — a modern printing method that produces vibrant, detailed prints that are built to last. In simple terms, the design is printed onto a special film and then heat-pressed onto the fabric, resulting in a bold, high quality finish.
One thing we like to be upfront about — you can feel the print on the garment. It has a slightly raised texture in the design area. It does soften with washing, though you’ll always be able to feel where the print is.
We know sensory sensitivity is really important to many of our customers, so we want you to know this before you buy! Out of hundreds of orders we’ve only ever had one person flag this as an issue — so for most people it’s absolutely fine — but we’d rather you have all the information upfront than be caught off guard when your order arrives.
Any questions before you order? You can always WhatsApp message me on 07794079881
How is my Something Profound order delivered in the UK?
We use Royal Mail 48-hour Tracked for all UK deliveries at a flat rate of £4.95, so you’ll be able to follow your order’s journey right to your door — no anxiously wondering where it is!
Once your order has been dispatched you’ll receive a tracking number so you can keep an eye on it. Just remember that because everything is made to order, please allow up to 2 weeks before your order is dispatched — your tracking will only activate once it’s on its way.
Does Something Profound offer free UK delivery?
We don’t currently offer free delivery as standard — as a small independent business, shipping costs help us keep things running while making sure your order arrives safely!
That said, we do run occasional free delivery offers and promotions, so it’s worth keeping an eye out. The best ways to never miss a deal are:
• Follow us on Instagram @something_profound__
• Follow us on Facebook Something Profound Clothing
Where does Something Profound ship to, and how long does delivery take?
We’re a proud UK-based business and ship all across the United Kingdom. We also ship to a growing number of countries internationally — including USA, France, Australia, Belgium, Austria — and we’re always happy to try and accommodate new locations too!
Don’t see your country available at checkout? Just drop us a message on WhatsApp on 07794079881 and we’ll do our best to make it happen.
How long will my order take?
Because everything is made to order especially for you, please allow up to 2 weeks for delivery. We think good things are worth waiting for — but we’ll always aim to get your order to you as quickly as we can!
What is Something Profound’s returns policy?
Because every order is made especially for you, here’s how our returns work:
• Not quite right? Return within 14 days for a full refund — just cover the return postage
• Faulty or incorrect item? Return within 14 days and we’ll send you a replacement, no quibble
• Personalised items can’t be returned unless they arrive faulty or incorrect
We’d always recommend using our size guide before ordering to make sure you get the perfect fit first time!
If you have any issues or questions about your order, the easiest way to reach us is via WhatsApp on 07794079881— just drop us a message and we’ll get back to you as soon as we can.
Are Something Profound’s clothes sensory-friendly?
We’ve put a lot of thought into this, because I’m sensory-sensitive myself! Our t-shirts are made from organic cotton by Stanley/Stella, and are GOTS & OEKO-TEX certified — so you can trust exactly what’s touching your skin.
We’ve kept tags as minimal and unobtrusive as possible. There’s a tiny, super-soft size label in the neck (honestly, I forget it’s there) and a small information tag tucked into the side seam at the hem — well out of the way. No scratchy labels, no bulk — just soft, comfortable, sensory-friendly clothing designed with neurodivergent people and those with chronic illness in mind.
We’ll always be honest — we aim to make our clothes as sensory-friendly as possible, and we’re constantly looking at ways to improve. If you have specific sensory needs or questions before buying, please don’t hesitate to get in touch.
What if I order the wrong size or Colour?
Need to make a change? Reach out to us as soon as possible and we’ll do our best to help! We can modify your order as long as supplies haven’t been ordered and production hasn’t started yet.
The best way to get in touch with me is via WhatsApp on 07794079881
Do Something Profound offer adaptive clothing or easy-dressing options?
Honestly, not at the moment — and we’d rather be upfront about that than overpromise! Our clothing is designed to be as comfortable and sensory-friendly as possible, but we don’t currently offer specific adaptive features like magnetic fastenings or open-back designs.
However, we’d love to point you in the direction of our lovely friend Becky at All Access Sewing, who is absolutely brilliant. She has a book available on how to adapt your own clothes, plus patterns if you fancy making your own adaptive pieces from scratch. We can’t recommend her enough!

How do I find my perfect Something Profound size?
Forget trying to figure out if you’re a “medium” — sizing varies so much between brands that it doesn’t mean a lot! Instead, here’s what we recommend:
Grab a t-shirt you already own and love the fit of, lay it flat and take two measurements:
• Armpit to armpit across the chest
• Neckline to hem for the length
Then compare your measurements to the size guide attached to each product listing to find your perfect fit. Easy!
This method is so much more reliable than going by your usual size, and means you’re far less likely to need to return anything — which we know can feel like a faff, especially on low-energy days.
